RT Journal Article SR Electronic A1 Marchese, Mariana C. T1 The law that breaks the rule: critical analysis of legal discourses concerning the housing problem of the City of Buenos Aires JF Romanica Olomucensia YR 2017 VO 29 IS 1 SP 47 OP 68 DO 10.5507/ro.2017.004 UL https://romanica.upol.cz/artkey/rom-201701-0004.php AB The specific goal of this work is to provide linguistic-discursive evidence of the way information is distributed, in terms of degrees of communicative dynamism, in a corpus of legal discourses related to the housing problem experienced by the inhabitants of Buenos Aires City who are in a situation of poverty. The corpus covers the period from 1997 (the year in which the City became autonomous) to 2012, and the discursive analysis applied to it centres upon the study of focalized information. The epistemological paradigm is interpretativist, the theoretical framework is Critical Discourse Analysis, the methodology is qualitative and inductive, and information distribution is examined through the Converging Linguistic Approaches Method for CDA. The reflection from the point of view of different disciplines on the city's so-called "housing issue" is of great importance, since the latter has become seriously aggravated with the passing of the years and particularly affects people who experience situations of poverty and vulnerability.
