AB  - Nowadays, the economy of space and time is a major concern, reflected in people's lives, including the communication in their language evolving with the society which it reflects. It is perhaps this need to shorten that gave birth to the truncation - a phenomenon characteristic for modern French. The objective is to describe some features of this process, including the syllable structure, the relationship between terminal vowels and consonants, and the role of the apostrophe.
