AB  - After bearing in mind the need for carrying out more research projects focussed on an empirical basis so that training programs and teaching/learning activities have a practical and not an exclusively theoretical fundament, this paper proposes new analytical tools to understand translation for publishing companies within the context of minority languages and cultures. When the source or the target language is Galician, the translator and the several agents that intervene in carrying out such work and in its final result, need to perform a set of operations that belong to the mediation process. Even though a good number of specialists are interested in the what, when, where and how of things related to translation between major languages, our research is focussed on analysing the transfer process of minority languages and cultures.
