AB  - This paper, based on genres' levels of abstraction, as proposed by Fairclough, who was inspired by Swales, proposes a theoretical development on formats' levels of abstraction. These reflections are results of a research on street papers, a particular type of media. The reflections also articulate levels of abstraction proposed in Critical Realism: real, actual, and empirical.
