AB The aim of the paper is to compare the description of Venus' garden in famous poems by two remarkable representatives of the Italian Quattrocento - Giovanni Pontano's Urania and Angelo Poliziano's Stanze. Both these humanists found their source of inspiration in Claudian's Epithalamium de nuptiis Honorii et Mariae. The intertextual dialogue between the work of the Italian authors and the ancient text will be examined. ER
