Certain syntactic phenomena, particularly cut constructions, which are characteristic of oral discourse, are studied in this article, with their meaning being considered in relation to the context. Cases are extracted from a corpus of authentic conversations. Therefore, the study of syntax in context allows the definition of operational concepts and the formulation of organizational syntactic criteria in order to clarify some aspects of the complexity of conversation.
