On a methodological basis it works with Lubomír Doležel's theory about possible fictional worlds in literature. Four operators are taken into account - aletic, deontic, axiological, and epistemic, both in its general and specific sense. Two noted works written by well-known Mexican authors have been chosen for investigation; one of them is a prominent representative of the classical detective story, María Elvira Bermúdez, the other one is a prolific promoter of the "novela negra" in Latin America, Paco Ignacio Taibo II.
