Le rôle spécifique du journal intime dans la formation de l’identité à partir de l’exemple des romans de Michel Tournier

Dans cet article, nous nous concentrons sur le processus de la formation de l'identité de personnes qui vivent dans la solitude, en s'appuyant sur les théories de Gilles Deleuze et Paul Ricoeur, selon lesquelles la présence d'autrui est indispensable dans ce processus. L'autrui influence considérablement notre vue sur le monde et sur nous-mêmes. Si la formation de l'identité de l'homme - en tant qu'un membre de la société - est influencée considérablement par l'autrui, la question qui se pose est « Comment se forme-t-elle dans la solitude ? » Ici, nous approchons le rôle attachant du journal intime dans ce processus, parce que c'est un journal intime qui remplace la proximité si nécessaire d'une autre personne - de l'auditeur. Notre analyse a été réalisée sur deux romans de l'écrivain français Michel Tournier, le représentant le plus célèbre du roman mythologique français du XXe siècle : Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique et Le Roi des Aulnes. Les personnages principaux de ces deux romans vivent dans la solitude, soit sur l'île, soit en marge de la société, et confient leurs pensées à leurs journaux intimes. C'est à travers leurs écritures que nous avons la possibilité d'observer comment leur identité est formée et comment leurs visions d'eux-mêmes et d'autrui changent en solitude.

The specific role of the diary in the formation of identity through the example of Michel Tournier's novels

The paper is focused on the process of the formation of the identity of people living in solitude, on the basis of the theories of Gilles Deleuze and Paul Ricoeur, according to which the presence of others is indispensable in this process. Other people affect our view of the world and also of ourselves considerably. If the formation of human identity is affected substantially by the presence of other people, the question that arises is "How is the human identity formed in solitude?" The remarkable role of the diary in this process is approached here, because it is the diary that replaces the important presence of another person - the listener. The analysis was carried out on two novels by the French writer Michel Tournier, the most famous practitioner of the mythological novel in France in the 20th century: Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique and Le Roi des Aulnes. The main characters of these two novels live in solitude, either on an island or on the margins of society, and confide their thoughts to their diaries. It is through their writings that the reader has the opportunity to observe how their identity is formed and how their visions of themselves and other people are changed as a result of their solitary lives.
