Estudio cognitivo de las metáforas en las paremias de los títulos de obras de teatro español (siglos XV-XVIII)

En los últimos años se ha observado un notorio y creciente interés en el análisis cognitivo y su relación con la lingüística. En este estudio, se propone una óptica cognitivista para examinar y clasificar las paremias que constituyen los títulos de obras teatrales registradas en la investigación «Índice de las obras clásicas de la literatura española, en cuyos títulos figuran refranes frases hechas (Siglos XV-XVIII)» de José de Jaime Gómez y José María de Jaime Lorén. La metodología empleada abarca la clasificación de estas paremias teniendo en cuenta el libro Metáforas de la vida cotidiana de Lakoff y Johnson, con el propósito de abordar el significado que subyace en las paremias. La investigación categoriza las paremias en metáforas orientacionales, ontológicas y mixtas. Además, destaca la importancia de la construcción de significados lingüísticos y culturales. Por consiguiente, el objetivo principal consiste, en primer lugar, en identificar, registrar y categorizar estas paremias y, en segundo lugar, en evidenciar la relevancia de las paremias como herramientas lingüísticas con capacidad de revelar un significado que se refleja metafóricamente. En conclusión, destaca la eficacia del enfoque cognitivo en la taxonomía de las paremias para comprender sus significados y su impacto en la comunicación. Asimismo, se reconoce la flexibilidad metafórica de las paremias.

Cognitive study of metaphors in the proverbs of Spanish play titles (15th-18th centuries)

In recent years, there has been a notable and growing interest in cognitive analysis and its relationship with linguistics. This study proposes a cognitive perspective to examine and categorise the titles of theatrical works written between the 15th and 18th centuries and gathered in the research study "Índice de las obras clásicas de la literatura española, en cuyos títulos figuran refranes frases hechas (Siglos XV-XVIII)" by José de Jaime Gómez and José María de Jaime Lorén. The methodology employed involves the classification of these paremiological elements in the light of the book Metaphors We Live By, developed by Lakoff and Johnson, with the purpose of addressing the underlying meaning in paremias. The research categorises the paremias into orientational, ontological, and mixed metaphors. Additionally, it highlights the importance of the construction of linguistic and cultural meanings. Consequently, the primary objective is, first, to identify, record, and categorise these paremias and, second, to demonstrate the relevance of paremias as linguistic tools capable of revealing a meaning that is metaphorically reflected. In conclusion, it highlights the effectiveness of the cognitive approach in the taxonomy of paremias to understand their meanings and their impact on communication. Furthermore, the metaphorical flexibility of paremias is recognised.
