Samuel Bidaud
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):123-135 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.013
This article focuses on the belgicisms which are present in Le Mariage de Mlle Beulemans, Frantz Fonson and Fernand Wicheler's famous comedy, which was enormously successful in Belgium as well as in France at the beginning of the last century. Belgicisms are very numerous in Le Mariage de Mlle Beulemans, but have not been studied in an exhaustive way until now, although the play is often cited in the Dictionaries of belgicisms. We first study the morphosyntactic belgicisms, and then the lexical belgicisms of Le Mariage de Mlle Beulemans.

Les langues immigrantes et la situation linguistique au Canada
Immigrant languages and the linguistic situation in Canada
Jaromír Kadlec
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):153-159 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.015
The article concerns the position of the languages of immigrants and their impact on the linguistic situation in Canada. The waves of immigration, the origin of immigrants and their linguistic competence have always had a decisive influence on the linguistic situation in Canada. For historical, political and geographical reasons, it is Asians that prevail among the immigrants who settle down in Canada and the linguistic situation in the country is also changing in favour of Asian languages (mainly Chinese). By contrast, Quebec takes in fewer Asians and many more immigrants come from Africa, South America and the Antilles. The immigrants who arrive...
Las estructuras lineales en los diccionarios de sinónimos y antónimos del español
Lineal structures in the dictionaries of Spanish synonyms and antonyms
Francisco Martínez Real
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):161-168 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.016
This article presents an analysis of the linear structures - proposed by Cruse (2000) and accepted among most linguists - in different dictionaries of Spanish synonyms and antonyms. The article first explains the concept of linear structures and its implications for the elaboration of dictionaries. It then explores if these structures are reflected in the dictionaries and in which ways these structures can help to improve dictionary entries of this kind by clarifying which words can be classified as synonyms and antonyms.
Aportación alemana al léxico minero español del siglo XVIII
The German contribution to the Spanish mining lexicon of the 18th century
Miguel Ángel Puche Lorenzo
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):169-184 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.017
During the eighteenth century, science and technology experienced an important development that would be greatly expressed in the following century. However, not all areas of knowledge develop in the same way, or reflect the same changes. Mining was not oblivious to this fact and thus this is considered in our research. This time, it aims to contextualise and analyse the manuscripts by José de Ricarte and Juan Martin Hoppensack. Through them, the questions of how translations from German to Spanish worked and what consequences they could have had on the Spanish mining vocabulary are explored. In addition, how the teaching and research technicians or...
Nación y migración: revisión crítica de libros de texto para la enseñanza secundaria en la Argentina
Nation and migration: a critical review of textbooks for high school education in Argentina
María Beatriz Taboada
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):185-202 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.018
This article goes deeper into some of the findings of a previous research study named "'Nosotros, los argentinos': la construcción de la identidad nacional en libros de texto de Ciencias Sociales" ("'We, the Argentine people': the construction of national identity in Social Science textbooks"), where the way in which such an identity is discursively constructed in textbooks aimed at high school education was analyzed. One of the axes prioritized in the analysis is the construction of migratory processes related to the national territory, an aspect which will be considered in this article. In the suggested focus we made use of theoretical and methodological...

Spectators chilenos y convivencia: la Aurora de Chile y El monitor araucano
Chilean spectators and social coexistence: the Aurora de Chile and El monitor araucano
Hans Fernández
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):203-212 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.019
The Aurora de Chile (1812-1813) and El Monitor Araucano (1813-1814) - historically the first two Chilean newspapers - were managed by Camilo Henríquez, an ordained priest whose vision was to educate his readers and compatriots and thus contribute to the construction of national identity during the independence period. Even though Latin American print journalism represents a seldom-analyzed medium from the various approaches of textual criticism, these newspapers and others like them - the Gazeta de Buenos Ayres (1810-1821) or the Gazeta do Rio de Janeiro (1808-1821), for example - functioned at a time when the spread of concepts from the European Enlightenment...
El mito, el símbolo y el lector en La pesquisa, de Juan José Saer
The myth, the symbols and the reader in The Investigation, by Juan José Saer
Diana Ramírez
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):213-223 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.020
This research deals with the crime novel by Juan José Saer La pesquisa, focusing on the reader's participation in the Argentine literary system. Another important topic is the relationship between myth and literature. The study aims to investigate the way in which Saer built his literature, since the narrative system reworks the myth through writing and leads the reader into the games and mysteries that the novel contains. The issues that this article stresses are symbols that act as vehicles for the mystery of the detective novel, such as the labyrinth, the double, and their relationship with the different levels of meaning of the novel, depending...
Agustín Yáñez y Juan Rulfo: afinidades y contrastes canónicos
Agustín Yáñez and Juan Rulfo: affinities and canonical contrasts
Pablo Sánchez
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):225-235 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.021
This essay discusses one of the less-known aspects of the boom of the Latin American narrative: the construction of the novelistic canon of the second half of the 20th century. It takes as its starting point the case of two major Mexican narrators in the narrative after the Revolution, Agustín Yáñez and Juan Rulfo. The essay analyzes how and why fundamental Latin American critics of the boom valued the renewing capacity of both authors and assigned greater aesthetic importance to Rulfo, thus placing him in a central position of the canon that lingers to the present day.
A alma ancestral e a contemporaneidade brasileira: imaginário consciente e inconsciente na intrepretação do Brasil em Roberto Gambini
Ancestral soul and contemporary Brazil: conscious and unconscious imagery in the interpretation of Brazil in Roberto Gambini
Ale¹ Vrbata
Romanica Olomucensia 2016, 28(2):237-254 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2016.022
The paper deals with Roberto Gambini's Jungian analysis of contemporary Brazilian society as it was developed during the 1980s and 1990s. Focusing on the complex and not completely transparent conditions of the very beginning of the Portuguese colonization project in Brazil, Gambini studies early 16th-century Jesuit correspondence, identifies cross-cultural (erotic and demonic) transference between the European/Catholic and indigenous psyches and infers the psychological conditioning of today's Brazilians. Both Gambini's multidisciplinary approach and the complex issue he is dealing with make his research compatible with the Jungian project of Eranos...
