Present tense is the most widely used tense in the Spanish verbal system. Although this tense normally appears related to present situations, it can show a big variety of meanings depending on the context. In this paper, we analyze the main uses of the present tense in the Colombian soap opera called Sin tetas no hay paraíso, based on the novel written by Gustavo Bolívar. This is a good material to study because of its dynamic and realistic dialogues, so we can know the Spanish spoken in Colombia nowadays. We analyze the different uses of the present tense and the relations with the rest of the elements of the statement (horizontal relationships)....

Jan Holeš
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):117-124 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.020
The article deals with French-based creoles, with a special attention paid to those spoken on the islands in the Indian Ocean. These include the creole languages used in two independent countries, the Republic of Mauritius (and Rodrigues, its dependency) and the Republic of Seychelles, and in the French overseas department of Réunion. The article contains samples of the respective creole languages and some illustrations of their use.
Le phénomène d'explicitation dans la langue juridique
Zuzana Honová
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):125-133 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.021
The article deals with the matter of explicitation in legal texts. It begins by defining the term itself and then it treats of the causes leading to a larger extent of explicitation in legal texts. It sees them particularly in the efforts to express everything as precisely as possible and to compensate the insufficient equivalence of legal terms. In addition to that, the syntactic differences and the legal style itself are also the causes of explicitation.

This contribution shows the current status of the study of the teaching of writing in the field of L1 Spanish teaching. With this aim, we first discuss the origin, topics of focus and the evolution of Applied Linguistics, and the teaching of language and literature. Next, we focus on the teaching of writing. This study first discusses different approaches to the teaching of this skill, before introducing the current dominant approach used in secondary education for the teaching of Spanish as a mother tongue: the communicative and functional approach. Finally, we formulate a proposal for the teaching of writing skills based on the microfunction analysis...
La féminisation linguistique en milieu francophone
Martin Pleško
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):151-158 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.023
This paper analyses sociolinguistic situation and the position of the feminine profession words in four French-speaking countries: Belgium, France, Canada and Switzerland. The linguists have been dealing with feminization of French language since the 1970s but there has been no detailed comparative analysis of situation in the given countries so far. Although these four countries influence each other in linguistic feminization but the privileged position of feminine nouns in Quebec does not contribute to their higher usage in the European French-speaking countries.

Cadalso leyéndose a sí mismo. Notas para una edición
Miguel Ángel Lama
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):159-168 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.024
Among the manuscripts of José de Cadalso (1741-1782) published in the late nineteenth century by the French hispanist R. Foulché-Delbosc, there was evidence that the writer from Cádiz had a special concern for revising his poetry published in the book entitled Ocios de mi juventud, in 1773. This article points out that those annotations by the poet must be taken into consideration - for the first time - for a future edition of the poetry of Cadalso.
Andrés Rivera desde la fenomenología alegórica. Análisis de la novela La revolución es un sueño eterno
Daniel Nemrava
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):169-177 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.025
The article proposes an allegoric interpretation of the experimental novel La revolución es un sueño eterno (The Revolution is an Eternal Dream, 1987), a masterpiece by the Argentinian writer Andrés Rivera (1928). Our hypothesis is that rather than an attempt to fill in the empty spaces of the Argentinian official 19th century historiography, Rivera uses the memories of a history-based character Juan José Castelli to reflect upon the existential crisis of a modern man. In our opinion, the fragmentary and labyrinthine nature of the text, the splitting of the narrator and the chronotopic distortion thematize the process of creative writing itself...
Retour(s) de l'auteur et « postures littéraires » à l'aube du troisième millénaire
Eva Voldřichová Beránková
Romanica Olomucensia 2012, 24(2):179-184 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2012.026
The term autor has become the object of growing contempt of many French writers (Flaubert, Mallarmé, Valéry, Proust), literary critics (Thibaudet, Bakhtin, Barthes, Blanchot) and philosophers (Foucault, Deleuze) within the last 120 years. Nevertheless, this trend starts to turn slow in 1980s, owing to weakening of previous dominant position of structuralism. The article makes a brief historical survey of refusing author's instance, then it deals with its gradual regeneration since 1980s until now in detail. An analysis of the term "literary posture", promoted by a Swiss critic Jérôme Meizoz, and its potential methodological use follows for better explanation...
